Place-based regeneration
At the heart of Regenopolis lies a conviction: regeneration begins with place. Place-based regeneration is a systemic, participatory approach that enhances the vitality of a territory by activating its unique identity, culture, natural assets, and human potential.
Our three areas of work
Our three areas of work reflect the lifecycle of regenerative territories. We activate the place through land development, remain engaged to steward and continuously improve its long-term performance, and bring regenerative thinking to the strategic decisions that shape it at every stage.
Land Co-Development
Designing and activating regenerative places from the outset.
We co-develop regenerative territories by bringing together the partners, capabilities and financing required to activate a place. Our role is to ensure regeneration is embedded from the outset, with operators retaining full autonomy to run what gets built.
This includes:
- Place-based strategy and regenerative master planning
- Hospitality, infrastructure and mixed-use integration
- Coalition-building and partnerships with credible commercial and local actors
- Nature restoration and natural capital enhancement
- Local economic development and regenerative value chains
- Stakeholder alignment and community co-design
- Mobilization of aligned long-term financing and investment vehicles
- Implementation oversight, with monitoring, reporting and operator autonomy
Outcome: regenerative places that integrate hospitality, nature, local economies and infrastructure into one coherent system, with resilience built in by design.
Regenerative Asset Management
Managing the whole system on which an asset’s long-term performance depends.
We continuously strengthen the performance of the entire living asset — financial, environmental and social together.
We monitor and actively enhance:
- Built capital
- Natural capital and ecosystem performance
- Community, culture and local economic integration
- Local supply-chain resilience
- Climate and systemic risk resilience
- Regenerative performance, measured through our proprietary rROI framework
Using rROI, we help owners and investors strengthen financial performance alongside the environmental and social systems that sustain it.
Outcome: higher-performing assets, stronger resilience, healthier ecosystems and more stable long-term value creation.
Advisory Services
Bringing regenerative thinking to strategic, investment & development decisions
We help investors, asset owners, developers, insurers, businesses — with a particular focus on hospitality players — and public authorities understand the potential of a place and translate it into a viable regenerative strategy.
This includes:
- Regenerative strategy and transition pathways
- Place-based diagnostics and opportunity assessment
- Master planning and territorial co-design
- Ecosystem building: stakeholder alignment and governance
- Feasibility studies, business models and regulatory alignment
- Investment readiness and blended finance strategies
- Policy, institutional and international partnership development
- Capacity building through training, mentoring and workshops
Outcome: a shared vision, an investable roadmap and a coalition aligned around the long-term success of the place.
The Regenerative Hospitality Atlas
As part of the Regenerative Hospitality Collective, Regenopolis incubates and stewards the Regenerative Hospitality Atlas, a living map and community of practice connecting regenerative hospitality projects worldwide. The Atlas is where we build relationships, share knowledge and identify opportunities — the ecosystem from which our three mandates grow.
Map
An online ecosystem of regenerative hospitality projects, their stories, maturity & evolving needs
A curated onboarding journey helping projects articulate their positioning, regenerative approach, and opportunities for support
A growing community of projects connecting with aligned investors, funders, practitioners, NGOs and ecosystem partners
A library of narrated personal journeys and lived experiences, academic resources, tools expert insights, and a Regenopolis Podcast
The RISE framework
RISE frames regeneration as a trajectory, not a static score, showing how an asset
and its territory rise in capacity across four interconnected dimensions.
